According to the Livestock Census 2019, India is home to more than 19.34 million stray cattle. These gentle beings, who once served humans with their milk and labor, now struggle to survive.
For many of them, Gaushalas are their only hope
Shri Krishna Gaushala is one such sanctuary that has been rescuing and caring for abandoned cows since 1995. What started with just 13 cows has now become a safe haven for over 9,500 rescued cattle. Here, they receive food, medical care, and a secure home where they can live with dignity.
Many of these cows arrive weak, malnourished, or severely injured. Some are blind, some have lost limbs, and others are battling life-threatening illnesses. Yet, at Shri Krishna Gaushala, each one is treated with love and care. They are fed nutritious meals, including wheat, green grass, dried grass, and jaggery. They have open spaces to roam freely and expert veterinarians to look after their health.
But caring for 9500+ cows is not easy
Every day, the Gaushala struggles to provide enough fodder, medicine, and shelter for these voiceless souls. More and more cows arrive in need of rescue, but resources are running low.
This is where you can make a difference.
These cows have given so much to us. Now, it’s our turn to give them the love and care they deserve. Donate today—help feed, heal, and shelter them.
