In our tradition, Gau Mata is worshipped as a symbol of nourishment, compassion, and dharma. Serving her is believed to bring peace, blessings, and spiritual fulfillment.
Yet today, many gaumatas are left to fend for themselves when they grow old or fall ill. They wander hungry, injured, and uncared for, despite being revered in our culture.
At Narayan Dham Gaushala in Jaipur, Champalal ji and his team have taken this responsibility as seva. What started with just 200 cows has now become a shelter for 2000+ gaumatas, each cared for with dedication and devotion.
Many of these cows are rescued in difficult conditions. Some arrive weak from hunger, some injured, and some in need of urgent care. With proper treatment, nourishment, and protection, they are given a life of dignity.
But caring for 2000+ gaumatas every day requires continuous support. The cost of fodder, shelter, and medical care is high, and the gaushala is struggling to meet these needs.
Gau Seva is not just an act of kindness. It is a sacred responsibility.
